We will continue to use the client’s trusted investment advisor and will “delegate” investment responsibility. As Trustee, our attorneys will make the difficult decisions regarding discretionary payments and will prepare accounting and tax returns “in house” to minimize the expenses related to the probate or trust administration.
Elder Law
Lauer Law understands the complexities of elder law, particularly as it pertains to Florida residents. We are aware of the difficulties that senior citizens face as they struggle to stay in their homes, afford medical and personal care, and maintain their savings during nursing home stays.
We answer questions and devise strategies for long-term care, property ownership, guardianship, living wills, residents’ rights, nursing home abuse, medicaid qualification and related concerns. Since elder laws is a highly complex legal area where experience counts, we constantly monitors changing requirements and regulations to provide clients with the best possible advice.
Guardianship
When it is no longer possible for a client of ours or loved one of yours to care for himself or herself, a guardianship proceeding may become necessary. Lauer Law can help navigate the guardianship process with the Court to ensure that the guardianship fits the needs of your loved one.
Because of our experience in fiduciary litigation, we also represent Guardians, Wards and family members of Ward or AIPs in contested guardianship matters.
Since Lauer Law has built a reputation for legal excellence in the Vero Beach community, we are frequently appointed by the Court to represent an Alleged Incapacitated Person (AIP) in incapacity proceedings providing further credibility in the eyes of the Guardianship Court.
